Why SOC closed the 8/22/06 meeting?

August 25, 2006

angryThe great thing about Pensacola is that secrets don’t remain secret long.

The word we’ve gotten is that Stop Our City is planning a blitz on the nursing homes. They will try to collect as many elderly absentee ballots as possible. Charlie, Marty and the gang are planning to bull rush this group.

We plan to review every absentee ballot from these nursing homes to insure that someone’s right to vote wasn’t co-opted by SOC zealots. We will ask the people if they truly cast the vote recorded under their name. Unfortunately, we can’t do it until after the election.
Making wild accusations on their website, WCOA and their BLAB TV shows are one thing. Election fraud is quite a different matter.

Be careful.

  1. Pensacola Pete Says:

Sadly, I’m sure there will be allegations of voter fraud on both sides once this is over. The only difference is the SOC crowd is perfectly capable of doing something illegal and justifying it as for “the greater good.”

I think they see the handwriting on the wall, however and will pull one or two desperate stunts. If the proposal passes, Chuck and Marty will hold a news conference the very next day on the city hall steps alleging fraud.

Maybe we can have SOC night the first season the Pelicans are in the new stadium. I would personally buy any or all of them a beer and a dog.

  2. Rick Outzen Says:

The Independent News plans to investigate any and all allegations of fraud. We clearly support the CMP because our independent research has made us firmly believe it will be a catalyst for this area.

We also believe that Stop Our City and its leaders have deliberately misled the public on the facts of this CMP plan. They made this issue a personal vendatta and Jihad, not a debate of the merits of the proposal.

However, that being said, there are no free rides. We won’t tolerate anyone trying to sabatoge this election.
