BSoc Theme Song – You decide

August 22, 2006

pink vadarA couple Better Save Our City (BSoc) members have complained about the theme music used by Stop Our City on their weekly BLAB show:

” Their choice of theme music for their TV show-and-tell half hour speaks volumes about what their real agenda is; they use The Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. It’s one of the most martial pieces of music ever composed and has been used by various militaries to scare the crap out of the uneducated.”

“The first and last time I watched the propaganda being dispensed on the SOC show, I was also struck by their choice of theme music. Wagner’s music was a favorite of Adolf Hitler. Much has been written about the influence Wagner’s music had on Hitler and the development of his nazi philosophy. It is an appropriate musical theme to instill fear and malign those you oppose.”

We don’t have a BLAB show yet but it doesn’t mean we can’t have a theme song.

Here are a few suggestions:

We Built This City” – Jefferson Starship, “American Idiot” – Green Day, or “Big Yellow Taxi” – Counting Crows
From Richard Hawkins: “Fool for the city” by Foghat; “Rock you like a hurricane” by the Scorpions; “My City of Ruins” by Bruce Springsteen.

What are your suggestions? Unlike SOC, Better Save Our City wants your input.

We CAN build a Better Save Our City!!!

I’m goin’ down to Our Park
    gonna have myself a time,
    Friendly faces everwhere
    humble folks without temptation,
I’m goin’ down to Our Park
    gonna leave my woes behind,
    Ample Parking Day or Night,
    people spouting, “Howdy, Neighbor”

I’m headin’ down to Our Park
gonna see if I can’t unwind,
I like parks with big museums,
I like parks with baseball fans,
So come on down to Our Park,
and meet some friends of mine.

  6. Melinda Says:

Sept. 6th a.k.a. The Morning After

There’s got to be a morning after
If we can hold on thru the lies
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let’s keep on looking for the light.

Oh can’t you see the morning after?
It’s waiting right outside the storm
Why don’t we cross the bridge together
And find the place that SOC can’t harm.

It’s not too late, we should be building
Only with votes can we climb
It’s not too late, not while we’re living
Let’s start the park in our time.

There’s got to be a morning after
We’re moving closer to the shore
I know we’ll be there by tomorrow
And we’ll escape the SOC darkness
We won’t be lied to anymore.

  7. Louie "The Park" Says:

    What A Wonderful World

I see fields of green, a museum too
No more SOC to ruin it for you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

I see Chuckie and Donno in Azalea Trace
They are planning on stopping the City of Pace
From building a school and a swiiming pool, too
Too bad they got a case of the S-O-C Blues.

I see ballfields at night, a musuem by day
Plenty of greenspace where our can children play
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
