Dear Downtown Business:

On Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 11:45 a.m. a number of downtown businesses
are planning to gather in Plaza Ferdinand for a press conference to show
downtown business support for the Waterfront Park. At this
gathering, several speakers representing the various types of businesses
andindustry located in the downtown area will provide testimony about what
theproposed park means to them and their respective business. Additionally,
a roll call of downtown businesses that support the project will be read and
distributed. Local media will be covering the event. The event is being
sponsored and presented by the Friends of the Waterfront Park.

If you and your downtown business believes that the realization of the
Waterfront Park is a necessary catalytic event for the continued
renaissance of Downtown Pensacola (as does the Downtown Improvement
Board),please consider doing the following two things:

1. Let the organizers of this event know that that they can include the
name of your firm, business, or organization in the roll call of
supportersthat will be read at the press conference next Tuesday by
responding to his email or emailing directly jane@friendsofthewaterfrontpark.com

2. Attend, along with as many others from your business as you can bring,
the press conference on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 11:45 a.m. in Plaza
Ferdinand (corner of Government & Palafox) to help make the voices and
wishes of the vast majority of downtown businesses known. The entire event
will conclude by 12:15 that day.

The community needs to hear that businesses and people like you paying for
the Park really want it to happen. I hope you will join us in the
two ways identified above to help ensure that the future of Downtown
Pensacola remains bright. Together, we can make a great difference in the
future of the heart of this wonderful place we call home.

Executive Director
Pensacola Downtown Improvement Board
