Stop the madness! Testing Pre-K

August 6, 2006

shockSt. Pete Times published  this article  –State to test success of pre-K -on testing Pre-K students to evaluate the effectiveness of public pre-K classses.

Students will be tested during the first semester of kindergarten – which we all know means that  eventually K teachers will start changing their lesson plans to prepare the kids for the tests. It’s the FCAT pressure and overemphasis all over again.

Let pre-K and K be about learning and getting along with your classmates – not test rallies and banners touting one pre-K program is better than another.
