Rod Smith Leaves Town

July 18, 2006

Democratic candidate for governor – state Sen. Rod Smith – kicked off his media bus tour of the state in Pensacola’s Seville Square at 7:30 am today.

I missed it —too much writing to do & up too late last night- but I heard Smith had a crowd of around a 100 enthusiastic supporters. Bob Kerrigan was there. PNJ Werniecke, O’Brien and Moon. Several Democratic candidates were also on hand.

Smith gave a fantastic speech before he boarded the bus for 15-stop, 4-day trek across the state.

Guess who was missing? Ron Melton, chairman of the Escambia County Democratic Executive Committee.

I’d be surprised if Mr.Melton even knew who Smith was. This guy has got to go.
