Randy Johnson Receives Endorsement of

Florida Fraternal Order of Police

Orlando, FL – State Representative Randy Johnson (R-Celebration) today announced the endorsement of the Florida State Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police, the organization representing over 23,000 active and retired Law Enforcement Officers.  Members of FOP voted to rescind their endorsement of Tom Lee and endorse Randy Johnson by a unanimous vote on Saturday, June 24 during their 57th Annual Florida State Lodge Conference in St. Petersburg Beach.

“I am so proud to have the support and confidence of such a respected organization like the Fraternal Order of Police,” Johnson said. “I intend to continue my role as advocate and defender of law enforcement. I wear their endorsement proudly.”

The Florida State Lodge is part of the National Fraternal Order of Police which has 323,000 members and 2,100 lodges. FOP is committed to building communities and improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those served through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.

“The Florida Fraternal Order of Police is proud and honored to endorse Randy Johnson for Chief Financial Officer,” Florida State Lodge President James W. Preston said. “Throughout his career, Rep. Johnson has been an ardent defender and advocate for Florida’s law enforcement officers and has strived to make Florida a better place for all Floridians.  We admire his leadership, courage and passion to solve the real issues facing our state and we need him as Chief Financial Officer,”

The Fraternal Order of Police is the second organization of first responders to endorse Johnson’s candidacy. On June 5, 2006, Johnson received the endorsement of the Florida Professional Firefighters, the organization representing Florida’s firefighters and EMS personnel.

Florida’s Chief Financial Officer oversees 12 offices and divisions including the Treasury, Risk Management, Insurance Fraud, Consumer Services and Fire Marshal. As a member of the Florida Cabinet, the Chief Financial Officer serves as a part of the collective decision and rule making body for the state along with the Governor, Attorney General and Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Randy Johnson lives in Celebration, Florida with his wife Darlene and their two children, Jordan, 19, and Brooke, 17.
