Willie Junior’s demise

February 24, 2005

Did Willie Junior really commit suicide? We can’t find stats on how many people off themselves by drinking anti-freeze. In the hills of Mississippi – antifreeze is sometimes used to make moonshine.

The other bothersome point is why would Junior be depressed and suicidal over a short jail sentence? Junior’s friends were willing to a pay his way to a minimum security pokey. Marion Berry become cult hero and was re-elected after his drug conviction. Junior could have achieved the same status.

Definitely wierd. Very wierd. I’m sure his supporters, tho, will get something named after him. Or maybe Preston will diversify into beer???

I never met the man, but I don’t believe for a minute that he committed suicide. I don’t even know if I believe that it was him -initially all the reports said that the body was so badly decomposed that the race of the person could not even be determined. I just don’t believe that he would have his hair done in the morning and crawl under a house to die later in the day. It doesn’t add up. I know he’d done some things he shouldn’t have done, but who among that crop of guys had’nt? Fact is, all things relative, and given what he’d been through, I hope he’s in some tropical paradise sipping drinks with little umbrellas in them, being fanned with palm fronds, and having his grapes peeled for him.
